Appealing to whisky novices and connoisseurs alike, the Whisky Tasting and Dinner gives a unique insight into the complex world of Scots whisky. Led by a tutor, you will discover how Scotland's water of life is made, and most importantly, sample a few wee drams!
  • One hour Scotsh whisky tasting session, led by a tutor
  • Sample 4 malt whiskies from the main whisky producing regions of Scotland
  • Indulge in a  3-course dinner, featuring Scotland's gourmet produce
  • Enjoy a special dram of whisky after dinner
The session will give you the chance to nose and taste 4 single malt whiskies from the main whisky producing regions of Scotland: the Lowlands, Highlands, Campbelltown and Islay.

To appreciate how the tatse of whisky varies by region, your tutor will introduce you to the five stages of Scotch whisky appreciation: colour, body, nose, palate and finish. Hear about the complex art of blending whisky and malt, and learn about the traditions that give each whisky it's individual appeal.

The evening is rounded off by a three-course dinner. Enjoy Scottish cuisine, made from the finest local ingredients - a dinner which is guaranteed to end your evening on a high note.

Soup of the day (V) 
Served with home made bread.
 
Scottish smoked salmon
With whisky crème fraiche and oatcakes.
 
Seared pigeon breast
With MacLeod black pudding and quince chutney.
 
Vegetable salad (V)
Asparagus, green beans and artichoke with
hazelnut and coffee oil dressing.
 
Mains

28 day hung Aberdeen Angus Rib eye steak
With triple cooked chips and whisky cream sauce.
 
Chicken Balmoral
Free range chicken breast stuffed with haggis. Roasted tatties,
neep puree and whisky jus.
 
Pan fried mackerel fillet
With warm potato salad and light mustard sauce.
 
Wild mushroom tortellini(V)
Pea veloute and truffle oil.
 
8oz Borders boar burger
Served bun-less with triple cooked chips
game jus.
 
Desserts
 
Cranachan
Fresh Scottish raspberries bound with Drambuie whisky liqueur scented
mascapone, honey and toasted organic oats.
 
Selection of artisan Scottish cheeses
With oatcakes and quince chutney.
